Why keep chickens?
CHICKENS GO HAND IN HAND with the aims of a productive food garden. They are brilliant recyclers, turning weeds, plant scraps, pests and non-compostable kitchen scraps into nutritious eggs. Chickens also produce nitrogen-rich poo that is a potent ingredient when added to any compost heap. Chickens are fairly easy to care for and can be fun to have around – all they need are the basics of a happy, healthy life.
